How does face matching work?

We use state-of-the-art facial recognition models to create a biometric embedding (a 512-dimensional vector) from the photos you upload. This embedding is a mathematical representation -- not the photo itself -- that we compare against content indexed across the web. When a similarity score exceeds our confidence threshold you get alerted.

Is my data safe?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Your data is encrypted at rest and in transit by our infrastructure providers. Biometric embeddings are stored in an isolated database hosted on Supabase (SOC 2 Type II certified). We never sell or share your data with third parties. You can delete your entire account and all associated data including face embeddings from your Settings page.

What is the TAKE IT DOWN Act?

The TAKE IT DOWN Act (signed into law May 2025) is a federal law that criminalizes the non-consensual publication of AI-generated intimate imagery. It requires platforms to remove such content within 48 hours of receiving a valid takedown request. FaceSentry automates this process on your behalf.

How accurate is the matching?

Our face matching system uses a multi-model AI pipeline designed and trained in-house. Every match runs through our proprietary Spartan deepfake detector and NSFW classifier. Video scans analyze content frame-by-frame with temporal consistency analysis. You can review AI analysis scores for each match on your dashboard.

Question 5

Do you send my photos to ChatGPT or other AI services?

Accepted Answer

No. All of our AI models run directly on our own servers. Your photos, biometric embeddings, and scan results never leave our infrastructure. We do not use OpenAI, Google, or any third-party AI API for analysis.

Can I protect my children?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Our Family plan lets you add up to 5 people, including minors. For children under 13, parental consent is required and all results are delivered only to the parent's account. Protecting minors from AI-generated content is a core mission for us.

What happens when a match is found?

Accepted Answer

You'll receive an immediate email alert. From your dashboard, you can review the match, see where it was found, and file an automated DMCA takedown request with one click. We track the takedown status and follow up if the platform doesn't comply within the legal window.
